The full service is described on the managed Secureframe services page.

Minnesota privacy and breach rules a Secureframe program should cover

The Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act (Minn. Stat. 325M.10 to 325M.21) took effect on July 31, 2025. Secureframe has no built-in Minnesota framework, so we load the act's duties as a custom framework and map them to the SOC 2 and ISO 27001 controls you already run.

What managed Secureframe includes for Minnesota companies

One named security lead operates the account, with compliance analysts who work in GRC platforms every day.

Secureframe setup and integrations

Frameworks enabled, identity provider connected first, then cloud, code, HR and endpoint integrations, with each control assigned to an owner.

icon-6

Minnesota custom framework

The act's duties loaded as a custom framework in Secureframe and mapped to existing SOC 2 and ISO 27001 controls, so shared evidence counts once.

icon-7

Data inventory and assessments

The personal data inventory, the documented privacy policies and each required data protection assessment drafted with your team and reviewed on a schedule.

icon-9

Weekly failing-test follow-up

Failing tests and integration errors triaged each week, with control owners chased until the evidence is in place and a short status report every Friday.

icon-5

Trust center and questionnaires

Your Secureframe trust center published with the SOC 2 report behind an NDA request, and customer security questionnaires answered from your controls.

Audit readiness and auditor liaison

A readiness review before each SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audit, then coordination with your audit firm and its evidence requests.

How managed Secureframe works for a Minnesota company: Assess, Build, Operate

The same security lead stays with you through each audit cycle.

01

Assess

Review your Secureframe account and check whether the Minnesota act applies to you as a controller, a processor or both. Output: a gap list with owners and dates.

02

Build

Connect missing integrations, load the Minnesota custom framework, draft the data inventory and assessments, and fix failing tests with your engineers.

03

Operate

Monitor Secureframe each business day, keep the inventory and assessments current, answer customer assessment requests and manage each annual audit.

Questions about Secureframe consulting in Minnesota

Secureframe lists GDPR, CCPA and CPRA among its privacy frameworks, but no Minnesota framework. Secureframe supports custom frameworks, so we load the act's duties (data inventory, documented policies, data protection assessments, consumer rights and processor contracts) as a custom framework and map them to the SOC 2 controls you already run.

Minn. Stat. 325M.16 requires a controller's data security practices to include maintaining an inventory of the data it must manage to meet its obligations under the act. In practice that means a register of the personal data you hold, where it lives and why you process it, kept current as systems change.

It helps on the processor side. Minn. Stat. 325M.13 lets a processor arrange an annual assessment by a qualified, independent assessor using an accepted control framework, with the report given to the controller on request. A SOC 2 report from an independent CPA firm is a common way to meet that. SOC 2 does not cover the controller duties, such as consumer rights requests and data protection assessments, which need their own work.

July 31, 2025. Postsecondary institutions regulated by the Office of Higher Education have until July 31, 2029. The 30-day cure period for violations expired on January 31, 2026.
